Rough Water Weekend - Sea Kayak Skills Comprehensive (Skill Level 4)

This is a 4 day skills immersion happening October 2-5, 2026
Similar to our 4 day Level 3 Skills Comprehensive but for paddlers with experience in waves and wind, can perform self and assisted rescues, and who want to take it to the next level with a group of of folks who will encourage you and not hold you back!
Introduction to surfing & more advanced surfing options, conditions permitting.
Rolling practice with specific application for rough water.
Rough water rescue practice.
Towing in wind
Advanced topics in tides, navigation and expedition travel

Open to all intermediate and advanced sea kayakers. 4 day gives us the time to travel to the best learning locations in and around the Apostle Islands. *Note that although we can't guarantee 'rough' water, we offer this course in October knowing that we will likely have a few options.
As a bonus, those interested and eligible can gain an American Canoe Association (ACA) Level 4 Skills Assessment, and we have space for one current level 4 Instructor to obtain their 4 year Instructor Update.
The weekend (Fri-Mon) includes all instruction and free camping or first-come-first-serve bunk bed in our heated bunkhouse at the Lost Creek Adventures shop location.
Must provide own equipment including a kayak with flotation, PFD, helmet, skirt, paddle, extra paddle, bilge pump and float. Some items can be rented through us, including helmet, at a reduced rate for the weekend.
