When our primary paddling location is deemed unsafe due to wind speed and direction we reserve the right to choose an alternate location for your trip. Due to the fickle nature of the weather on Lake Superior we couldn't stay in business if we didn't have this option. (We also cancel a lot of trips where it's not safe at our alternate locations)
Luckily we have some great alternates available! Unlike some outfitters, we only choose alternate trips that promise to have some of the same features as the original plan. (For example, a sea caves trip will have sea caves) and some alternate locations offer more of another feature that you wouldn't have gotten with the original tour. (Diversity of wildlife or landscape, for example)
For our overnight trips we sometimes have to start early, start late, end early, or switch our campsites.
Luckily You don't have to worry about any of this, since that's what you hire us for! But it is important to understand why we do what we do, so that you can set your expectations to "adventure".
