Apostle Islands Kayaking Day Trips

Our kayak day trips include Apostle Islands sea caves tours, day trips out to the islands, and shipwreck adventures.

Apostle Islands Sea Caves Exploration

Our Mainland Sea Caves Tour is the most sought after adventure in the Apostle Islands. When conditions are safe we explore the caves accessed from Meyers Beach, only 4 miles from our location.

This tour uses tandem kayaks, but for families with children, we have triples! For this option you will need two adult paddlers per child who would be a 'rider' in the middle seat. (An 'adult' is considered to be at least 14 years old and 115 lbs. Riders must be at least 5 years old and 40lbs.) Read more about kayaking with kids.

If wind makes it unsafe at the mainland caves we may reroute your trip to an alternate location. You can read more about how we choose alternate trip locations here

Sand Island Sea Caves & Culture Tour
(Starting June 15, 2022)

Sand Island is one of the 22 Apostle Islands and is one of the most diverse naturally and culturally; fantastic sea caves, a historic lighthouse, hiking trails, beaches, apple orchards, even model T Fords! Since time won't allow us to explore everything Sand Island has to offer we will base our itinerary on safety and group interests.

Novice paddlers are welcome, but should be in decent physical shape. This is our longest day trip at approximately 9 miles.

For families with children, we have triple kayaks. For this option you will need two adult paddlers per child who would be a 'rider' in the center seat. (An 'adult' is considered to be at least 14 years old and 115 lbs. Riders must be at least 5 years old and 40lbs.)

If wind makes it unsafe to visit Sand Island we may reroute your trip to an alternate location on the mainland. You can read more about how we choose alternate trip locations here.

$119 to $129 per person includes equipment, guide, and picnic style lunch. View payment & refund policies

Full Moon Kayak (Beginning June 2022)

It's amazing being out on the water after dark. The lake is at its calmest and the sea caves at Romans Point are surreal! We may even learn some constellations while we're at it. Tour normally uses tandem kayaks.

This tour is only offered on the date of the full moon and the day before and after.

*Important* For safety reasons you must bring 1 headlamp/flashlight per every two people in your group. (We sell headlamps at our shop if you don't have one)

$65 per person includes kayaking equipment & guide.

Apostle Islands Shipwrecks
Shipwrecks & Snorkeling

Currently unavailable

The Apostle Islands hold a wealth of human history, some of it buried beneath the waves! In this trip we leave from Red Cliff and paddle our kayaks over, around and past several shipwrecks, as your guides tell you the tales of these and other sunken treasures in the area.

Snorkeling or skin diving the wrecks allows you to look at structure (natural and/or man made) and possibly wildlife.

Unlike scuba, this is a quiet recreation where one can see fish and other critters that may be otherwise spooked by the noise that scuba can make. Most people will swim on the surface, using a mask and snorkel to see beneath. We will give a safety talk, pointers and a demo prior to heading out.

We use sit on top kayaks for this trip so you can slide off and on while snorkeling around the shipwrecks. 4 mile round-trip paddle.

$139 per person includes guide, paddling equipment, on-water lunch, snorkel and mask. Minimum group of 4 or $50 additional logistics fee for group of 3,  $80 for group of 2.
