Adventure loves company, right?

For our half and full day tours we use tandem sea kayaks for guests. Tandems are more stable than single kayaks, and they have rudders to help you steer. Occasionally when a guest has prior sea kayaking experience we allow them to paddle a single kayak. (Your guide makes the final decision)

On longer (camping) trips we will need at least one tandem kayak along for safety and storage reasons, but more single kayaks are permitted because of the more extensive training received.

"If it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger" or in our case, it may make you wetter.

We still go out when it's rainy and chilly (Hey, we're in Wisconsin) but for truly hazardous weather such as thunder or crazy wave conditions we may need to make an excuse to watch the latest Netflix.

Some of our online reviewers dock us a star for not realizing they would be asked to help carry boats for our sea cave tours. (It's unfortunate that they didn't read previous reviews where we answer this question from other participants who didn't read previous reviews, and so on:)...

"Hire someone to carry boats" is the suggested solution. The reality is IF we could hire someone to sit at the beach all summer to carry boats we'd have to charge a higher rate for trips, you wouldn't know why, and so our friendly competition would get your business, who would then ask you to help carry boats... (See the logic there?)

Anyway, this is a physical activity. We paddle for 2 hours or more on each of our trips. If you're back is healthy enough to carry boats for 5 minutes at the end, please do, if not, PLEASE don't feel guilty. Let your guide know and they'll completely understand. No one is forced to carry boats, and we'll make it work!

That kind of depends... We send you a suggested packing list once you register, but besides quick-dry clothing (such as a bathing suit) it's nice to have a rain/wind top layer, since cold water splash is common from paddles and wave action. You will also want footwear that you don't mind getting wet. We provide a wet suit (they are sleeveless and go down to your ankles); they are highly encouraged when the water temps are cold but otherwise optional. Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, long sleeves, sunscreen) and water bottle are recommended. To take a peek at our packing lists and other useful information please check out our resources page.

Where the heck is Cornucopia? Point your compass towards 22475 Highway 13, Cornucopia WI and you should make it here. Just use the roads, too many trees to go through otherwise.

A little known fact... We are by far the closest outfitter to the world-famous mainland sea caves. This means less time sitting in a van next to others in your form-fitting wetsuit and more time paddling.

It's been said that the best parking in life is free, so we offer free off-street parking in our lot, and transport you to the launch location. If you'd rather be rocking your podcast you can follow our van to the put-in, where it'll cost $5 to park.

We only have 3 rules; stay together, stay together, and don't seperate.

We paddle as a group, and every trip is different. The best thing to expect is that you will be paddling with a nice group of people, at the pace that the group will need to go to be safe. For more information on how we paddle as a group as sea kayakers check out this blog article.

Oh my, how we love dogs! But, nope, they are not allowed on any of our guided tours. However... they are allowed on sit-on-top kayaks which you can rent, unguided, for the Roman's Point area and inland lakes. It's also worth mentioning that they are not allowed on stand-up-paddleboards as their nails tear the foam topper.

Absolutely! Our trips fill up quickly, especially during peak times. Larger groups should book even further in advance. Sometimes we do have last-minute openings due to cancellations, so it's always worth giving us a call!

Yes, there are. If you're over 6'2" or 250 lbs, please let us know when booking so we can ensure a good fit. Our kayaks can accommodate up to 6'6" and 275 lbs. If you exceed these limits, we recommend our sit-on-top rentals. Unfortunately, we can't offer day-of refunds if the kayak is uncomfortable.

There are some other GREAT paddling destinations that you can reach right from our shop. Romans' Point has some beautiful sea cliffs, caves and scenery. Lost Creek is great for nature watching and fishing. You can also paddle directly to the world-famous sea caves or head out into the islands from our beach.
