The Lost Creek Family
Hi there! My name is Haydn, and I'm thrilled to be joining LCA as a guide this summer! I'm now a student at Middlebury College in Vermont, but I've lived in and around Lake Superior for most of my life. When not on the water, I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, skiing, baking, and playing guitar. I'm so excited to be able to share my love of the lake and my passion for the natural world with everyone!
Growing up in the land of 10000 lakes, I always loved the water. The idea of kayaking started as a way to fish the local waterways; paddling quickly became a passion and I haven’t put down my paddle long enough to fish! In the last 3 years, I have become a certified instructor, paddling/safety advocate, sea kayak symposium enthusiast, and officer of La Crosse Paddling Club. When I’m not on the water, you can find me hiking with my dog Larry, organizing music festivals, or volunteer fundraising.
I’m super stoked to join the LCA team this summer! This spring, I graduated from UW La Crosse with a degree in recreation management. I’ve been visiting Lake Superior since childhood and have grown to love spending time anywhere in the north woods. Aside from kayaking, I enjoy mountain biking, climbing and skiing; really anything that gives me an excuse to explore and be outside. I can’t wait to meet amazing people and help facilitate positive experiences on the big lake!
Howdy, I’m Trevor! I am an outdoor adventurer from Oregon where I just finished a degree in Outdoor Adventure Leadership. There I guided activities such as whitewater rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, backpacking and more. During the summer when I wasn’t adventuring I used to fight fire and responded to some of the biggest fires in the state. I can’t wait to explore this amazing area and help people make lifelong memories.
Hi! My name is Emily and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan. This is my first year with LCA and I could not be more excited. I love meeting new people and spending my time outside. Other than my love for kayaking and being out on the water, I also enjoy skiing, reading, and cooking with friends and family.
Sarah's been working, living, and playing on the shores of the Big Lake for the past 7 years. When not helping folks have an amazing experience on the water, she can be found sailing, hiking, swimming, and basking in the glory of a Bayfield peninsula summer.
This photo is me and my dog Wati on Madeline Island, he is my sidekick in just about everything I do. I've spent a lot of time traveling and living elsewhere in the United States and abroad in Europe and Latin America, and Lake Superior is still my favorite place to be and I'm excited to share that with others!
Hello, I’m Ben. I’m an avid skier, runner, paddler, guitar player, and movie watcher. I’m excited to get out on the water this summer and learn more about Lake Superior.
This will be my first year on the LCA team. I am a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with a major in Therapeutic Recreation and minor in Psychology. I grew up near the dells and spent much of my childhood hiking and rock climbing at Devils Lake. I enjoy ultimate frisbee, hammocking and traveling with friends! I am always looking for a new adventure and I look forward to sharing my love for the outdoors with the clients and staff.
I am so excited for this summer! I have lead many adventures including whitewater rafting and kayaking, climbing, snowshoeing, SUPing, and hiking through Southern Oregon Universities Outdoor Program. I will be graduating SOU in June with a degree in Outdoor Adventure Leadership. My favorite activities are whitewater rafting/kayaking and skiing but I love anything that will get me outside and exploring new places! I can’t wait to get to know you and help you fall in love with the outdoors!
I'm excited to explore the Northwoods for the first time and take advantage of all the things it has to offer. I've been working hospitality in National Parks since 2011. I love going out on trips and exploring new places. When I'm not working I'm out hiking, backpacking, creating art and doing anything outdoors. I'm looking forward to being apart of the team and making new memories with our clients.
I've worked as a botanist and ecologist all over the Northwoods, but this summer, I'm returning to Lake Superior as a guide instead of a scientist. Making people laugh and watching others enjoy nature is incredibly fulfilling to me, so I'm stoked to get out on the water to help our guests make some memories.
