Trip Food Coordinator & Assistant
2025 Positions Filled
The Ideal Food Staff
Must love taking the time and thought to make great food! Food can make or break an outdoor experience. Our overnight trips rely upon our amazing food gurus to plan, prepare, and pack out the best meals you can find on the water.
The Work
Our Food Coordinator is in charge of creating menus, purchasing, and prepping meals for day and overnight trips. Our season starts out slower with time to try new recipes, prep and clean the kitchen, and bake lots of cookies to get ready for the busy season. Our trips go into full swing later June, where working more than full time is sometimes needed. End of season winds down with final trips, clean-up, with work generally complete the week after Labor Day. Due to the fluctuation in our season the Food Coordinator has full control of their hours and timing. Some weeks may only allow a half-day off here and there, while other parts of the season could allow a few days off in a row to explore the area.
Food Assistant positions are generally part-time but can be combined with another role such as Support or Reservations to create full-time work.

(Must complete contract) First season food assistants working full time can expect to average $17/hour, and full time kitchen managers $17-22/hr including end of contract bonus, dependent upon quantity and quality of work.
Staff get free personal use of paddling equipment and access to our employee equipment purchase program offering up to 50% off retail prices on boats and other gear.
