Special Programs Coordinator
Winter Part time - Summer Full Time
Our mission is to get kids outdoors and give them the skills to paddle, camp, navigate, cook, lead their peers and mentor younger kids. Trip lengths depends upon age, with senior participants groups taking part in longer outdoor experiences.
The Work
The role of the SPC depends upon your strengths and may include off-season work such as outreach and marketing, contacting youth groups and registering participants. During the summer season the SPC also guides regular tours during non-group periods.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
The coordinator is expected to have all of the qualities listed for Guides, plus:

Excellent leadership experience with applicable references.

Excellent mature communication skills on phone and by email.

Desire to market and sell the program.

Experience working with youth and leading peers.
Compensation & Benefits
See Sea Kayak Guide & Paddling Instructor page for compensation & benefits information. The Special Programs Coordinator must be eligible to be hired on at level 3 prior to season start. This means prior experience in sea kayaks, leadership, and outdoor education.
Position dates
Our season starts mid-May. New staff training starts the day after Memorial Day. Expected commitment is through Labor Day in September.
